By Aria Angoli, Jr Handler
This year at the Eukanuba National Championship I competed with my Field Spaniel GCH Nautica’s Drama Free at Alasana aka Envee, who I co-own with Danielle Brewer and Allie McBain. I cannot thank them enough for trusting me with such a special girl. She is a liver Field spaniel and she has been my girl since June of 2014 which did not give us much time to qualify. I was so excited for Eukanuba this year. We competed in Junior Handling, Best of Breed and National Owner Handler Best of Breed Competition. Showing Envee at Eukanuba was so exciting for me because Field spaniels are very special.
This was the first year that I decided to participate in the Eukanuba pre shows. We went Best of Breed Owner Handler at the pre shows we were entered in, and took Best of Breed Owner Handler at the Eukanuba National Owner Handler Competition, that was an exciting win for us. In the limited junior competition, Envee and I made the first cut, which was very exciting as there were over 140 juniors entered. I was thrilled with how well Envee showed! No matter how tired Envee is she will show her little heart out for me. Always ready for a free stack or a tail wag. Envee and I also took Best of Opposite at the Eukanuba National Championship to the number one Field Spaniel! That was such an honor and an exciting win! I asked my mom to take us to Miami the weekend before Eukanuba where Envee and I got two seconds in Juniors with a nice junior entry and a Group 4 with many beautiful international dogs entered. We had some great moments together in Miami and the fact that it was an outdoor show and 82 degrees, sunny, with a nice breeze sure made Envee and I feel good. We went to Hobie beach for a photo shoot with my mom. Hobie Beach allows dogs and Envee is a little Diva and was happy to say hello to all those friendly Hobie Beach dogs. I think we could definitely get used to it there in Miami. What was very interesting in Miami is how many people were thrilled to meet a Field Spaniel, they said they had never seen one in person, even at the dog show. One man liked Envee so much he offered to buy her! I can certainly understand why he would like her so much, she is a fantastic Field Spaniel and as I explained to everyone in Miami, she is the perfect Field spaniel for me! I like the way that everyone smiles when they see Envee. Even if a judge does not place Envee in breed or me in Juniors it makes me very happy that they always smile when Envee is in the ring. I am already qualified for Eukanuba 2015 and plan on going back next December. I am trying my best to also qualify for Westminster. I could not have asked for a more perfect Field spaniel , I think Envee is definitely my heart dog and I look forward to our future together and many more travels and exciting wins.
