FSSA “Panchibo” Pin Award

History of the award

Jeanette Spurlock, a founding member of the Field Spaniel Society of America and a retired AKC Field Spaniel breed and obedience judge, bred Field Spaniels under the “Featherfield” kennel name. Over the years she held multiple club offices, served on a variety of committees, and was elected a life member of the FSSA. In 1998, Jeanette wanted to give something back to the members of the FSSA. She sponsored and initiated the “Panchibo” award pin program. The pin is named for two Field Spaniels that were special to Jeanette: CH Kare-Dawn’s Pancho Gonzales CD and his son CH Bilbo Baggins CD.

Panchibo Pin Recognition System:

FSSA members who earn an AKC conformation or performance title with their Field Spaniel are awarded an appropriately colored “Panchibo” pin. Each title is recognized by the color of the conformation and/or performance area in which the title was achieved. Titles earned at the highest level of each conformation or performance area have a separate delineation for pin color. One pin is issued per dog. Duplicate Panchibo pins may be purchased from FSSA for $5.00 (includes S&H). Panchibo Pins must be applied for by the owner of the dog using a current Panchibo Pin application form, which is available on the FSSA website.
