About the AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship Award
This award is presented annually to a member who deserves special recognition for having made a difference in the sport of purebred dogs, embodies the AKC Code of Sportsmanship and has been an active and valued member of our club.
Only FSSA members in good standing are eligible for nomination. In one typed page or less, nominations submitted by FSSA members need to include the name of the nominee, a description of how the individual has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship during the previous calendar year, and the name of the individual endorsing the nomination. No additional weight is given to a nomination with multiple endorsements.
Written nominations must be submitted to the Corresponding Secretary by March 31. The Board will review all applications and seek clarifications from endorsers if necessary.

The Board will reach their decision before the National Specialty Banquet, at which time the winner of the award will be announced and the award medallion will be presented to the winner.
