2020 sportsmanship award

Good Sportsmanship Award Nomination

I would like to nominate Sandy Burt-Jones for the Good Sportsmanship Award. Since the beginning of the FSSA, Sandy has quietly and tirelessly kept all of the statistics for Field Spaniels. Years before the internet, she would scour the AKC Gazette Award Publications, looking show by show for any Field Spaniels entered and record all the information into her database, keeping track of titles earned, colors of dogs, and all the milestones of "Firsts" in the breed. Even though she doesn't compete in Performance Events, she has diligently tracked all of these events as well, starting when there was only AKC Obedience and Tracking, then Rally and Agility and now many other sports from BarnHunt, Dock Diving, Trick Titles to Therapy Dog, CGC titles and now Scentwork. All of this information is invaluable for pedigrees, which she has then been able to provide for the yearbooks as well as FSSA club members, Recently Sandy has spent months going through the Fleckenbase website (German database) to insure that all the information on the US dogs was accurate. She also searches the AKC and Front & Finish websites to obtain year end reports to help with annual awards. All of Sandy's dedication to the accuracy of all Field Spaniel statistics makes her well deserving of this award.

Sincerely, Judy Pollard
